Considering the daunting statistics that Oregon and Washington State have the two highest percentages of breast cancer in the US, and given the fact that we live in a unique part of the country that is socially active and corporately responsible, OWSA is asking Portland and SW Washington residents and area businesses to help us raise the bar. With the help of our sponsors, the 2011 Sail for the Cure (read about the name change) had over 485 participants on the water and at the Portland Yacht Club. Although this is already one of the largest events on the Columbia, we’re expecting even more participants this year.
